Little Germany’s future up for discussion at September meeting

The next full meeting of Bradford Civic Society will take place on Tuesday 19 September, with Dave West of Little Germany Action confirmed as the guest speaker.

Little Germany has been described as the finest Victorian merchant quarter in Europe, and is undoubtedly one of Bradford’s architectural gems – but is Bradford making the most of it? Dave West will talk us through Little Germany Action’s efforts to make the district a great place in which to live, work, and play.

We’ll be discussing the impact of The Broadway on Little Germany, almost two years after it opened. We’ll also be looking at whether changes to planning policy aimed at encouraging more residential development have been successful, as well as examining recent efforts to improve Little Germany’s historic streetscape with public art.

This talk is a must for those interested in this fascinating part of Bradford and its remarkable built environment.
